(Richmond, VA- May 26, 2011): Turnkey Promotions, a Richmond-based promotions company specializing in nonprofit fundraising incentive programs and corporate recognition campaigns, announced today that it has hired Rocky Marrin as its relationship manager for its nonprofit division. His primary responsibility will be to help nonprofits create a sustainable income stream through peer to peer fundraising and fundraiser recognition gifts.

“Turnkey’s primary focus, and the reason I get up each day, is to serve our nonprofit client-base. I need someone with that same passion and drive, and that is what Rocky brings,”says Katrina VanHuss, CEO, Turnkey Promotions. “He has worked with fundraisers in the past and he understands event fundraising. And, he can lift heavy stuff, which is handy,” she adds, jokingly.

“I started my business career in 1981 in the telecom industry, but I was drawn to the nonprofit sector in 2002 when I started a business that supported fundraising campaigns,” says Rocky Marrin.

In 2002, Marrin began a custom label bottled water business. The company, WaterBuddys, LLC, focused on helping schools and nonprofits reach their fundraising goals. Six years later, Marrin extended his focus towards the military when he established American Legacies – a company that creates high quality and personal military memorabilia to preserve experiences for future generations.

In 2010, Marrin traded in his business ownership hat for a hat of a different kind when he became the marketing director for a local retail establishment. There, he became deeply involved in organizing in-store events and fundraising and community partnerships with the local police, public & private schools, and the Henrico Education Foundation. “I thoroughly enjoyed working with local level nonprofit leadership, but I’m ready to make a difference nationally. That reason, above all, is what drew me to Turnkey,” he adds.
